Booking terms
Plain-English terms so we both know where we stand. If anything's unclear, just ask before you book.
1. Who you're booking with
Pitman & Paws is run by Lucy Pitman, a sole trader based in Bromborough, Wirral. Contact: pitmanandpaws@gmail.com · 07856 790860. I'm DBS checked and hold pet care insurance, and I'm happy to show you both.
2. Meet & greet
Before your first booking I'll meet you and your pet, so I can learn their routine and make sure we're a good fit. Either of us can decide not to go ahead after the meet & greet.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are as shown on the price list when you book, and they're the total you pay, with no booking fees. Any extras, such as additional pets or travel for weddings outside the Wirral & Chester, are agreed in writing before you book. Payment is due [Lucy to confirm: e.g. in advance by bank transfer / weekly in arrears for regular walks].
4. Cancellations
- Walks and drop-ins: free to cancel with 24 hours' notice. Later than that, the full price is due.
- House sitting: free to cancel up to 7 days before. Within 7 days, 50% is due.
- Weddings: a [Lucy to confirm] deposit secures your date and is non-refundable after the 14-day cooling-off period. The balance is due 4 weeks before the wedding.
If I ever have to cancel, you'll get a full refund for that booking and as much notice as possible.
5. Your 14-day right to cancel
Because you book with me online or by message, you have 14 days from booking to cancel and get a full refund, for any reason. If you'd like care to start within those 14 days, just ask me to start early. If you then cancel, you only pay for the care already given.
6. Your pet's health and safety
- Dogs must be vaccinated, wormed and flea-treated, and you'll tell me about any health, behaviour or medication needs.
- If your pet becomes ill or injured, I'll contact you straight away. If I can't reach you and it's urgent, you authorise me to take them to your vet (or the nearest vet in an emergency), and you agree to pay the vet's fees.
- Dogs are kept on a lead unless you've agreed in writing that they can go off-lead, and only in safe places.
- I may stop or refuse care if a pet's behaviour puts them, me, other animals or the public at risk.
7. Keys and your home
Keys and access codes are kept securely, labelled without your address, and returned or deleted when we stop working together. During house sits I'll treat your home with care and respect.
8. Photos
You'll get photos and videos of your pet during every visit. I'll only share them publicly (for example on Instagram) if you're happy for me to, and never in a way that shows where you live.
9. Liability
I take every reasonable care and am insured for my pet care work. I'm not responsible for loss or harm that couldn't reasonably have been foreseen or that's caused by information not shared with me. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer.
10. Complaints
If something isn't right, please tell me straight away and I'll do my best to put it right quickly.
