I keep this simple: I only collect what I need to look after your pets, I keep it safe, and I never sell it.
Who I am
Pitman & Paws is run by Lucy Pitman, a sole trader based in Bromborough, Wirral. I'm the "data controller" for your information. You can contact me about anything on this page at pitmanandpaws@gmail.com or on 07856 790860.
What I collect and why

I keep records of bookings and payments because the law requires it for tax purposes (legal obligation).
Who else handles it
I don't sell or share your details for anyone else's marketing. I use a small number of trusted services to run the business:
- Google (Gmail and Google Sheets) stores enquiries and emails. Google may process data outside the UK under the UK's approved safeguards.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and may log technical data such as IP addresses to keep it secure.
- postcodes.io turns a postcode into a map location when you use the postcode checker, and OpenStreetMap supplies the map images.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message me there.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that don't become bookings are deleted after 12 months. Client details are kept while I look after your pets and for up to 2 years afterwards, except financial records, which I keep for 6 years as HMRC requires. Keys and access codes are returned or deleted when we stop working together. Quiz tip sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe.
Keeping it safe
Your details are kept in password-protected accounts with two-step verification, and only I can see them. Access details for your home are never stored with your address.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, ask me to stop using it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. To unsubscribe from tips, just reply "unsubscribe" to any email. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first, and you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking. It uses your browser's temporary session storage only to carry choices between pages (for example, the service you picked on the quiz), and this is cleared when you close the tab.
Photos
I love sharing photos of the pets I look after. I'll only post your pet on social media or this website if you've said that's OK, and I'll never share anything that shows where you live.
